If you’re the owner of a classic vehicle, the Wheels for a Cure Society invites you to join the fun for a good cause.
Wheels for a Cure is a non-profit organization that is preparing for its Third Annual Event this weekend.
The purpose of the weekend event is to promote awareness of and raise funds for prostate cancer research, information, support and financial assistance as well as the Southern Interior Rotary Lodge beside Kelowna General Hospital.
The Southern Interior Rotary Lodge is owned and operated by the Canadian Cancer Society BC & Yukon Division. It is open year-round and offers affordable, comfortable and supportive accommodation for patients and family members (escorts) who have to travel away from home to undergo cancer treatment.
This year’s event is a two-day road tour that travels through a variety of Okanagan communities, with stops along the way. On Saturday the tour stops at the 7-Eleven parking lot in Armstrong and at the Jammery parking lot in Lake Country.
Sunday stops include Lordco in Westbank, 2484 Main St., for a “mini” show and shine. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Westbank Legion will have pancakes for hungry drivers and spectators, within walking distance from the Lordco car park.
From there, it’s a stop at A&W in Peachland for a special sock hop theme, before heading off to the Kettle Valley Steam Train station in Summerland for the final mini show on Sunday. Vehicles will be show standard and will be attending from different areas of Western Canada.

And finally, on Saturday, a dinner and dance will be held at the Rutland Centennial Hall featuring Okanagan band The Goods. Tickets for the dinner and dance are $35 each or $60 per couple, also available to purchase on the website.
