Thalassa Cruso, known as the Julia Child of horticulture, once said, “Fall is not the end of the gardening year; it is the start of next year’s growing season.”
Xerindipity Garden’s last workshop for 2012 will provide you with the skills to prepare your garden for winter and learn what steps to take to prepare for, and make, spring gardening easier.
Judy Baumbrough of Dusty Shovel Gardens will bring her knowledge and love of plants to present the “Put Your Garden to Rest” workshop, ideal for beginner gardeners or anyone looking for tips and tricks.
The following questions will be answered and you are welcome to bring your own:
n What do I leave planted for the winter?
n What do I need to take inside?
n When should I prune different varieties of plants?
Presented by the Regional District of the North Okanagan, the workshop takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Xerindipity Garden, next to the Okanagan Science Centre, 2704 Highway 6, Vernon. All ages are welcome and registration is not required.
