A celebration of mining in Princeton

The 4th annual Copper Mountain Mining Day was held at Veterans Square on Wednesday May 7.

The 4th annual Copper Mountain Mining Day was held at Veterans Square on Wednesday May 7, courtesy of Copper Mountain Mine, the Mining Association of B.C. and the Town of Princeton.

Interactive educational displays with the opportunity to win prizes were enjoyed by adults and children. Face painting, and balloons were provided by the Princeton Youth Ambassadors and the Ambassador Candidates.  A magic show, music by the Allenby Road Band, rescue challenges provided by mine rescue team members and gold panning lessons given by Yukon Dan were enjoyed by everyone in attendance as well.

One of the most favoured displays of the day was the gigantic Cummins Engine.
