The Abbotsford Agrifair and Mighty Fraser Rodeo began Friday, and will run until Monday at the Abbotsford Exhibition Park on Haida Drive. In the Fraser Valley, the Agrifair has been a tradition for over a century.
But, that doesn’t mean it’s the same old thing.
Be sure to check out the weekend blog by Megan Lambert.
The Agrifair is different every year with a different show every day, on top of annual staples from the demolition derby, midway rides, and professional rodeo.
Musical performances include Big City Soul, Jack Jackson, a tribute band to Fleetwood Mac called Dreams, Grammy-award winner Laura Story, X Corps drumline, and the finale of the Valley Voices Vocal Competition.
The Agrifair is kid-friendly, too — A large Lego area will be set up in the InterActive building, Twisters Gymnastics is offering drop-in programs for children of all ages, the Vancouver Tumble Bus is rolling into Rotary Stadium with a large ball pit, and Gary Savard from Now That’s Magic will astound kids and parents alike with his illusions and tricks.
Designed as a day trip for families, the Agrifair also has a great nightlife. The Legendary Fat Pig Saloon is open this weekend to young adults and features a beer garden, food, and music and dancing. If you hold a valid University of the Fraser Valley UFV ID, admission to the Agrifair is free of charge Friday after 5 p.m.

Of course, the Agrifair wouldn’t be the same without the 4-H livestock competitions, draft horse shows, Poultry-In-Motion educational mini-barn, and Fraser Valley Antique Machinery Association demonstrations for the farm fanatics and agricultural savants.
With music, a misting tent, and tons of food, the Agrifair is made for comfort, while thousands of visitors will come for a weekend of seeing shows and enjoying games and activities. And for $15, you can enjoy the last weekend of July at the Agrifair without breaking the bank.
The Agrifair runs this weekend from Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 3. For more information on daily schedules, admission, or maps and directions please visit agrifair.ca. #Agrifair, #Adifferentshoweveryday, #Itsmorethanyouthink.
