A man who died following a disturbance in Aldergrove on Wednesday evening was not murdered, as police first suspected.
In fact, said IHIT spokesperson, Stafff Sgt.Jennifer Pound, it appears that Clayton Marr, 51, had broken into the house where he was found unconscious by police officers who were responding to a call on Oct. 1.
Marr had entered the residence in the 27500 block of 32 Avenue when he was confronted by the homeowner and a neighbour, said Pound in a news release.
The two men attempted to restrain Marr and called police, however by the time RCMP officers arrived at around 8:30 p.m., Marr had lost consciousness.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The resident and neighbour were taken into custody by police, but were later released when evidence gathered at the scene failed to support any charges.
A neighbour told The TImes on Thursday that the house where the disturbance occurred had recently been sold. The neighbour said it sounded like furniture was being thrown around and then shouting could be heard. That was followed by the sound of sirens.
An autopsy and toxicology were being completed on Marr on Friday to help determine his cause of death.
