Armstrong fair another big success

The Interior Provincial Exhibition proved popular.

A total of 149,782 people passed through the gates of the Armstrong fair between Wednesday and Sunday.

“As the clean up continues, a huge thanks to all of the guests who visited the IPE, the sponsors, the volunteers, the City of Armstrong, the RCMP and everyone involved,” states the IPE on Facebook.

There were 150,170 at the fair last year.

There was a huge crowd at the Interior Provincial Exhibition Friday.

About 26,963 people passed through the gate during the third day of the Armstrong fair.

Attendance figures show there were 15,921 people on the grounds Wednesday and 16,105 Thursday.

Today (Saturday), could be the busiest day of the five-day event.

Access into downtown Armstrong will be very limited Saturday during the IPE parade, which starts at 10 a.m.

Visitors and residents are asked to be in town before the road closures begin at 9:30 a.m. or to take alternate routes using Pleasant Valley, Otter Lake Cross or Lansdowne roads.

The viewing area for the parade is along Pleasant Valley Road beginning at Memorial Park to the corner of Smith Drive continuing on to Rosedale Avenue.
