An arrest has been made in a string of robberies.
On Thursday at 2:06 a.m., the RCMP were called to a robbery at the 7-Eleven store on 39th Avenue in Vernon. A man had entered the store, produced a knife, and demanded the employees open the cash register. The man stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store.
A couple of hours later at 4:11 a.m., police were called to Mac’s convenience store on 27th Street for another robbery. A male had entered the store, approached the employee, threatened her and demanded she open the cash register. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
And also on Thursday at 8:40 p.m., a male entered the Village Green Liquor Store and approached the cashier. He produced a knife and threatened the employee, demanding money from the register. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
“The male was arrested a short time later by police as a result of a review of surveillance video and forensic evidence,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.
No employees were injured during the incidents.
Jeremiah Miller, 42, of Vernon, has been charged with three counts of robbery. He appeared in court Thursday and has been remanded in custody until Feb. 10.
