Vernon RCMP have arrested a suspect in relation to a 2015 robbery.

An arrest has been made in relation to a year-and-a-half-old robbery in Vernon.

In August 2015, a woman sleeping in her vehicle near 30th Street and 29th Avenue woke up to the smashing of her vehicle window and a suspect attempting to steal her purse and phone.

The woman attempted to hold on to her possessions and was dragged through the broken window and assaulted before the suspect fled on a bike with her items.

“The suspect was not identified or arrested at the time of the incident but the investigation continued and on Feb. 6, 2017, a charge of robbery was laid,” said Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

Shane Gaudry, 31, is currently in custody on other unrelated matters. His next court appearance is March 6.
