The Staples parking lot is the site for a barbecue today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. that serves as the kick-off for the Back To School Project.
It’s an effort organized by North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society, White Valley Community Centre, Family Resource Centre and Okanagan Boys and Girls Club Armstrong to help families who can’t afford to buy school supplies for their children.
Funds raised from today’s barbecue will go to backpacks for families.
