Firefighters remain focused on the Bear Creek blaze.
The fire along Westside Road is still estimated at 52.5 hectares in size and is now 75 per cent contained.
“Today, there are 50 firefighters assigned to this fire as well as one helicopter and two pieces of heavy equipment,” said Rachel Witt, a fire information officer with the B.C. Wildfire Service.
“Crews will continue to mop-up the fire around the perimeter and focus on danger tree falling operations within the fire’s perimeter.”
Evacuation orders and alerts remain in place at this time.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Westside Road was still closed in both directions from the junction with Highway 97 South to Traders Cove because of the fire.
