Annual event marks beginning of major Christian religious tradition

People unfamiliar with the city’s annual Good Friday procession may have been a little surprised last week.

The symbolic re-enactment of the story of Jesus walking to his crucifixion sees local Christians take turns hauling a large wooden cross through town.

The walk is organized by members of Christ Church Cathedral Anglican church.
