‘Biggest auction ever’ draws TV crew to Chilliwack

If you’ve been waiting to get your hands a 2012 John Deere crawler tractor, or a Caterpillar wheel loader, Ritchie Bros. in Chilliwack will be the place to be next week.

But expect a crowd.

The auction house is hosting its largest auction to date at its Chilliwack location. More than 1,700 items will be on the block, drawing buyers from across North America and around the world.

Also on hand will be a film crew from the television series Selling Big.

After a very successful first season on Cottage Life, the documentary, produced by Mountain Road Productions, is now filming Season Two. Focusing on Ritchie Bros. customers, its employees and a whole lot of equipment, Selling Big tells the story of big machinery and big price tags.

“This is most equipment we’ve ever sold in Chilliwack and the Selling Big TV crew will be on site to catch all the action,” said Adam Pruss, regional sales manager, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers.

Highlights in the auction include a large selection of late model crushing equipment, as well as construction, transportation, forestry, and agriculture equipment. Also up for sale will also be a large selection of construction, transportation and other equipment, as well as pickup trucks, cars, and recreation equipment.

There will even be an 80-foot tug boat on auction which will be offered remotely from its Richmond marina location.

Ritchie Bros.’auction site is located at 42275 Industrial Way, Chilliwack. The bidding starts Wednesday, May 28 at 8 a.m. The event is open to the public.
