Regardless of what the weather brings, the Black Press Extreme Career Fair will be going ahead at the Florence Filberg Centre and the Native Sons Hall in Courtenay on Thursday (Feb. 9).
Explore the career opportunities offered by Island employers who are eager to make Vancouver Island’s largest career expo a big success on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.. More than 80 exhibitors are excited about showcasing who they are and why they want you on their team.
The event will feature Ted Talk-style presentations at the Filberg throughout the day, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Numerous companies will deliver 15-minute pitches about the benefits of joining their teams. They will then answer questions for 15 minutes.
Company booths will be set up on both levels of the Filberg and at the Native Sons Hall.
Attendees will hear presentations from Hub Barton Insurance, 19 Wing Comox, North Island Employment Foundations Society, Westland Insurance, Home Depot, Marine Harvest and Black Press. North Island College, Royal Roads University and Discovery Community College will also have stage time.
Students, grads, unemployed individuals, and new career searchers looking for better or new opportunities will want to be there for this one-stop networking opportunity.
Attendees from outside the Comox Valley can take advantage of buses departing from Nanaimo and Campbell River beginning at 9 a.m.
Buses will depart from Frank Crane Arena in Nanaimo at 9 a.m., 12:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and the Campbell River Community Centre at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Shuttle service will also be available from North Island College in Campbell River, with buses leaving at 9:10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.
Through rain, sleet, snow or whatever, you’ll want to be there. All our exhibitors will be.
