Creston RCMP responded to 109 calls from Sept. 3-9, Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan said on Monday.
September 3
•A report of shots fired near Teetzel Road was referred to conservation officers.
•In what appears to be an ongoing dispute, a 32nd Avenue resident complained about a neighbour’s motorhome running.
•A 911 call reported a single motor vehicle accident on Highway 3.
•A 911 call from Topaz Creek cellphone tower could not be traced.
•No crimes were noted in a dispute between neighbours on 16th Avenue North.
•A patrolling police officer witnessed toys being thrown from a vehicle on Highway 21. When the female driver was stopped she was served with an outstanding prohibition notice and open alcohol was seized.
•Two ATV passengers were injured in the Gray Creek Pass area when the vehicle rolled. They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
•A 911 call from the Whimster Road cellphone tower could not be traced.
•A male wearing black coveralls and a black jacket, but no shirt, was reported to be climbing on an apartment building on 16th Avenue North.
September 4
•An intoxicated female on Hillside Street reported three subjects, one wearing a dog mask, were stealing from a neighbour’s yard. She pointed the suspects out to police, who were unable to see anyone.
•A purse was lost on Canyon Street.
•A 16th Avenue North resident complained about a neighbour starting his truck at 5 a.m. to go to work.
•When a vehicle reported to be driving erratically on Highway 3 was stopped, the driver was issued a three-day driving prohibition for having consumed alcohol and a passenger had a small quantity of marijuana seized. The compassionate police officer allowed the company vehicle to be towed to a motel so the driver wouldn’t lose his job. Twenty minutes later, the vehicle was gone and the driver had not checked into the motel.
•Harassing phone calls from an intoxicated female were reported from a 38th Avenue residence.
•A bicycle found on Cedar Street was later claimed by the owner.
•A female-model 18-speed Marin purple bicycle was stolen from 11th Avenue North.
September 5
•A wallet and coins were stolen from a vehicle on Sixth Avenue North.
•A 911 call from the Topaz Creek cellphone tower could not be traced.
•Thieves smashed a vehicle window with a large rock on Dugan Street to steal a wallet.
•A break and entry to a Birch Street residence netted a thief $6.
•Police attended an Eighth Avenue residence to keep the peace while a couple who were splitting up removed their belongings.
•A silver and grey Giant mountain bike with white handles and red lettering on the frame was stolen from Cedar Street.
•A wallet was lost on Canyon Street.
•A grey backpack containing a passport was lost on Erickson Road.
•A shoplifter was reported at a Cook Street store.
September 6
•A 911 call from Phillips Road was determined to have been caused by a phone problem.
•Cash was stolen from a vehicle on 10th Avenue South.
•A bike stolen from 11th Avenue North was later recovered.
•Theft from an unlocked vehicle on 23rd Avenue North netted thieves satellite radios, a flashlight, sunglasses and coins.
•A vehicle collided with a deer near Kootenay Pass on Highway 3
•When a patrolling officer stopped a vehicle on Canyon Street after noting the driver, well-known to police, was disqualified and wanted on a warrant, the driver fled. The 19-year-old was chased, caught and arrested, despite the protestations of his mother, who insisted he wasn’t driving. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
September 7
•No injuries were reported after a two-car collision on Ninth Avenue South.
•Police continue to investigate the reason for a 911 call through the Riley Road cellphone tower, though it has been determined there was no emergency.
•A complaint from Cook Street about harassment by an ex-boyfriend was referred to social and medical service agencies.
•A vehicle that sideswiped an oncoming car, breaking off its mirror, near the junction of highways 3 and 95, failed to stop at the scene and was not located.
•A 40th Street resident called to report a bear had crossed Highway 21. Police suspect it was trying to get to the other side.
•A Ninth Avenue South resident reported paying $190 in a telephone scam that informed her that her computer had a virus and needed repairs, which could be made remotely.
•Gas was siphoned from a truck on Highway 21.
•A shoplifter in the 1000 block of Northwest Boulevard was banned from the store.
•A blue child’s bike and a child’s scooter were found on Highway 3A and can be claimed by the owner.
•A complaint of harassing text messages was made by a 38th Avenue resident.
September 8
•When police responded to a 911 call from a Highway 3A residence, they found the house locked and unoccupied.
•A 911 call through the Mount Midgely cellphone tower could not be traced.
•Farm equipment was reported missing from Swan Road.
•Minor damage was reported in a two-vehicle collision on 16th Avenue North at Canyon Street.
•A motorcyclist who entered a curve on Highway 3A too fast lost control and fell from his bike. He was not injured.
•When police located a person reported to have made threats against a female, witnesses said the accused had not left the house and the vehicle he was said to have used was not in drivable condition. The investigation continues.
•One of two brothers who were causing a disturbance on Ibbitson Street was given a ride to another residence.
•A motorcyclist went off the road on Highway 3A near Boswell when he slid on gravel.
•A shoplifter in the 1000 block of Northwest Boulevard was gone when police arrived.
•Five males reported to be fighting on community complex grounds were gone when police arrived.
•A complaint of threats from an ex-boyfriend was made from a 16th Avenue North residence.
•Two female gamblers returning to Canada at Rykerts in separate cars were found to have consumed alcohol. One was issued a 24-hour driving prohibition. The other was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days. You roll the dice and you take your chances.
•Police received an assault complaint from 19th Avenue North where a male reported he was bitten in the forehead by his assailant. He then refused to co-operate in the investigation.
September 9
•A male who had been drinking alcohol rode down Railway Boulevard on his bike and crashed into a concrete barrier. He was not wearing a helmet and was taken to hospital for treatment.
•The driver whose vehicle hit a utility pole on Hansen Road is being sought.
•A Cavell Street resident complained about phone calls from a New Orleans prison.
•A fight at a Birch Street residence is under investigation.
•A female reported to be driving while under the influence of alcohol at a Highway 3 service station was located. She failed a roadside alcohol screening test and was issued a 90-day driving prohibition. Her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
•A Canyon Street resident complained about harassing phone calls.
