Parts of southeast BC have received varying amounts of rain over the past week, but a campfire ban imposed July 3 remains in effect throughout the Southeast Fire Centre.
That’s in addition to Category 2 and 3 open burning prohibitions that are still in effect.
“Although some areas have received a considerable amount of rain, it has only temporarily lowered fire danger ratings,” the centre said in a prepared statement.
The forecast calls for a return to hot and dry conditions and these ratings are expected to rise again quickly.
