The City of Vernon is encouraging the community to celebrate Earth Hour Saturday at 8:30 pm.
Earth Hour started in 2007 as a lights-off event to raise awareness about climate change.
Residents, students and businesses can share their Earth Hour actions to conserve energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Post a picture, poem or a description of a conservation action on Vernon Sustainability’s Earth Hour Facebook event page to enter a draw for one of 10 solar lanterns by April 5.
