There were some tense moments as a child plunged into Vernon Creek Saturday.
Vernon firefighters were notified of the need for a creek rescue in Polson Park at about 2 p.m.
“A stroller with a small child in it had rolled into the creek,” said Jack Blair, deputy fire chief.
“When we arrived, the child had been removed from the stroller and the creek but was quite wet. The fire crew wrapped the child in blankets and awaited arrival of B.C. Ambulance.”
The condition of the child is not known.
