The City of Vernon has announced some more upcoming road closures and traffic interruptions.
The city earlier announced that single-lane traffic is in effect during the day at 5504 Willow Drive until June 18 due to underground utility work.
With the Downtown Vernon Association’s Sunshine Festival running Saturday, 31st Street from 29th Avenue to 31st Avenue will be closed from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., as will 33rd Street from the alley behind Scotiabank to Coldstream Avenue.
On Saturday, June 22, the Kids of Steel triathlon takes to the streets in Okanagan Landing between 9 a.m. and noon, and there will be traffic control, athletes and single-lane traffic along Kin Beach, Tronson Road, Lakeshore Road and Okanagan Landing Road.
Two events in Okanagan Landing will result in traffic disruptions on Sunday, June 23.
The Xterra triathlon/duathlon will feature its bike and running disciplines along Eastside Road in the morning from the area of Ellison Park.
The Kal RATS triathlon begins at 8 a.m. at Kin Beach and moves to Lakeshore Road and west along Okanagan Landing Road toward Ellison Park as far as Whitepoint Road.
