Coldstream reaches deal over Kickwillie crossing

Municipality will upgrade rail track while company will be responsible for future upgrades

The District of Coldstream and Kelowna Pacific Railway have reached an agreement on the Kickwillie Road railway crossing.

In exchange for reducing the bridge over the College Way extension to one track and shortening the railway’s shunting area, the district had agreed to upgrade the Kickwillie crossing at a cost of $226,000.

The railway has assumed all current and future responsibility for this upgrade in exchange for a cash settlement of $160,000.
