British Columbia’s Community Gaming Grant Review will visit 14 communities across the province during August and September.
Last month, Premier Christy Clark appointed Skip Triplett as the independent reviewer of the province’s community gaming grant process.
The review is examining the role of government in allocating gaming revenue with input from charities, community members, industry representatives and local government.
The Terms of Reference include reviewing and providing options for:
• Existing legislation governing community gaming grant funding.
• Funding formula.
• Criteria/eligibility for community gaming grants.
• Processes involved with applying for and receiving community gaming grants.
• A multi-year funding model.
• The future role of government in community gaming grants.
For South Cariboo residents, the closest community forums will be held in Kamloops at the Barber Centre at Thompson Rivers University at 900 McGill Rd. in Kamloops on Aug. 16; or in the Pioneer Complex at 351 Hodgson Rd. in Williams Lake on Aug. 18.
All community forums will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
