A release from the Regional District of Central Kootenay states that Calgary-based Executive Flight Centre has contracted the delivery of water and is hoping to have tanks at the Crescent Valley and Winlaw fire halls later today (Tuesday, July30).
The release stated a number of logistical hurdles are being dealt with as quickly as possible to get water to residents for everyday use.
All surface source users on Lemon Creek, Slocan River and the Kootenay River above and below Brilliant Dam to the confluence of the Columbia and Kootenay Rivers at Castlegar are affected by a Do Not Use order.
Interior Health imposed the order following the spill of almost 35,000 litres of jet fuel into Lemon Creek on Friday,July 26.
