Conservative leadership candidate visits

Another Conservative leadership candidate is coming to the region.

Erin O’Toole will be at the North Okanagan-Shuswap Conservative annual general meeting and a reception Saturday.

O’Toole is the MP for Durham, Ont. and was first elected in 2012. Previously, he served as the minister of veterans affairs and parliamentary secretary for international trade.

Prior to politics, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and conducted anti-submarine, maritime surveillance, search and rescue and naval support operations as a helicopter air navigator.

The AGM is at 1 p.m. at the Vernon Golf and Country Club, and all past and current Conservative members are welcome. The reception is at 6:30 p.m. at the golf club and all are welcome.

Leadership hopeful Lisa Raitt was recently in Vernon.
