Coroner identifies Nanaimo mobile home fire victim

NANAIMO - B.C. Coroners Service identifies victim of fire at Petroglyph Mobile Home Park, south of Nanaimo.

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died in a mobile home fire in early June.

He was Cyril Godfrey Norris, 72, of Nanaimo.

At about 5 a.m. June 9, neighbours noticed the trailer in which Norris lived, at the Petroglyph Mobile Home Park in the 1000 block of Chase River Road, was on fire and called 911.

Nanaimo Fire Rescue firefighters extinguished the blaze and found Norris deceased when they searched the residence.

The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.

Norris’s family has been notified of his death.
