The B.C. Coroners Service is investigating a sudden death at Mabel Lake Provincial Park near Lumby Sunday.
Police officers responded to the park to assist B.C. Ambulance Service personnel who were attempting to resuscitate a 45-year-old woman from Calgary.
“The woman had been swimming in Mabel Lake prior to going into medical distress, advising that she was not feeling well and having
difficulty breathing,” said Lumby RCMP Cpl. Trevor Tribes.
“The woman was rushed ashore where a retired nurse performed CPR until B.C. Ambulance arrived and continued with life saving efforts, including CPR for 30 minutes. Sadly, despite the efforts of all concerned, the woman was not revived and died at the scene.”
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
