The regular meeting of municipal council was held on Jan. 26 in council chambers. The mayor and all councillors were present.
Zoning amendment adopted
Council gave second, third and final readings to a bylaw amending the zoning at 10120 Rand St. from RSD1-Residential Medium Lot Zone to RSD1(i)-Residential Single Detachment Intensive Zone.
A public hearing on the zoning change was held earlier in the evening.
Variance permit issued
A development variance permit was issued for 16110 Prairie Valley Road.
The permit varies the zoning bylaw to allow for one additional dwelling, outside of the farm home plate.
The dwelling for farm help may also have a basement.
Coun. Erin Carlson voted against the variance. She said the land is within the Agricultural Land Reserve and should be used for agriculture.
