A male was arrested shortly after he and another man forced their way into a basement suite on Stace Road late April 18, Staff Sgt. Darryl Hammond said on Monday.
Following the break-in, an assault was committed and prescription drugs and cash were stolen. The main suspect was found to be in possession of other drugs when he was arrested. He was later released on conditions and Hammond said police expect to lay more charges as the investigation continues.

Creston RCMP responded to 53 calls for service from April 18-24, Hammond said.
April 18
•A guitar, case and Bluetooth speaker were stolen from a vehicle on Sunset Boulevard. The guitar was later recovered when it was located at a local second-hand store.
•A male was arrested following a disturbance on Hillside Street. He was kept in cells overnight and released without charges.
•A vehicle went off Channel Road at Duck Lake, going down a bank and into trees. No injuries resulted.
•A 911 call from Seventh Avenue North was attributed to a pocket dial of a cellphone.
•Creston police served documents to a resident on behalf of Alberta police.
•Police assisted the SPCA in an investigation of animals being poorly cared for in Wynndel.
•A four-year-old child was found in the 10th Avenue area after wandering away from guardians at his house. A neighbor called police and the child was taken to Adam Robertson Elementary School where it was believed a sibling attends school. At that point, the guardians arrived to identify the child and return home.
•Police were asked to locate an intoxicated male out of concern for his well-being. He was found and police determined he was in control of his decisions.
•A dead deer was reported on Highway 3 west of Summit Creek.
April 19
•At the request of Kimberley RCMP, Creston police located a person to get a statement with regard to an investigation. He was arrested and later released on conditions.
•A semi had its load shift on a curve at Highway 3A and Riondel Road, causing it to overturn.
•While a female was moving out of a Cook Street residence, her purse containing ID and credit cards were stolen.
•A cyclist and pickup truck collided on 10th Avenue North at Vancouver Street.
April 20
•Police ask that anyone with knowledge about a CVSE vehicle being damaged at the weigh scales at the junction of Highways 3 and 95 to report the information.
•A group mailbox on Whimster Road was spray painted with graffiti.
•A vehicle reported to have been stolen in Canada was stopped when a driver attempted to enter Canada at Kingsgate. An investigation revealed that it had been stolen in Leduc, Alta., and shipped to a wholesale auction in the U.S. When the auction company found out it had been stolen, it made arrangements to return it to Leduc, but had failed to notify police of its intention.
•A vehicle was damaged on Bodor Road.
•Four youths were reported to be knocking on Elm Street doors and running off.
•When police located a person who had failed to pay cab fare on 18th Avenue South he claimed it was a misunderstanding.
•When police responded to a report of yelling and swearing at the community complex, two males were located, one of whom reported he had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital for a checkup while the other male was arrested and held in cells. Charges are pending.
April 21
•A hit and run was reported at the Summit Creek parking area on Highway 3.
•Police were called to the hospital where a person was resisting treatment. He later walked out but was eventually brought back in an ambulance.
•When police located a black motorcycle reported to be speeding and passing on double solid lines on Highway 3, the driver did not pull over. The high speed caused police to abandon the pursuit and the bike was not located again.
•An unsafe discharge of a firearm was reported on Goat River Road North.
April 22
•Police are investigating a report of a trailer stolen in 2011 being located in Vegreville, Alta.
•Bundles of catalogues were reportedly left at group mailboxes. Police determined the matter was a civil issue, which was later resolved.
•Police received a complaint about ongoing loud music on 24th Avenue North.
•A collision was reported in the rec centre parking lot.
•A 911 call reported an unwanted guest at an Elm Street residence. A person was arrested but no charges were laid.
April 23
•A driver whose vehicle went off Highway 3 in the 8000 block, hitting a tree, attributed the crash to mechanical problems when he was located later.
•A vehicle stopped at a check on Highway 3 at 36th Avenue North was found to have a firearm on the front seat, as well as a small quantity of drugs. Both were seized when the driver could not produce a firearm license.
April 24
•Suspicious activity in a Helen Street business washroom was reported.
•Police were called to a disturbance on Scott Street, where it was determined an argument had taken place, but no assault.
