Creston RCMP responded to 47 calls for service from Jan. 18-24, Staff Sgt. Darryl Hammond said yesterday.
January 18
•Police were called to Eighth Avenue South about a disturbance involving drug use.
•No injuries resulted when a flatbed truck carrying one travel trailer and towing a second lost control in slush on Highway 3 near Yahk and went across the oncoming traffic lane and into the ditch.
•A well-being check of an elderly female in the 700 block of Canyon Street indicated she was OK.
•Damage to a fence was reported at an Erickson road residence.
•A complaint about an aggressive dog was received from Crawford Bay.
•Police attended a Wynndel residence to keep the peace while a former resident retrieved property.
•The theft of $20 was reported in the 2400 block of Canyon Street.
•A vehicle went off Goat River Road and into a fence. The driver was found to have been consuming alcohol and issued a driving prohibition.
January 19
•A Sixth Avenue South resident called 911, but demanded that a specific constable, who was not on duty, respond.
•A complaint was made about two dogs running off leash on 15th Avenue South.
•Police arrested a male on Northwest Boulevard for domestic assault and possession of a prohibited weapon. Charges are pending.
January 20
•An intoxicated caller demanded a well-being check on a Dugan Street resident, who turned out to be OK.
•Police notified next of kin on 36th Street of a death on behalf of Vancouver police.
•A business on Highway 3A reported receiving a fraudulent bill by fax.
•A complaint was received about the neglect of a horse on 48th Street.
•An abandoned vehicle on Porthill Road was towed.
January 21
•Police were called to a dispute on Cook Street.
•In a Cook Street parking lot, a pedestrian reported nearly being hit by a vehicle, whose driver responded rudely when confronted.
•Four diamond rings were reportedly stolen from a Lister residence sometime since Christmas.
•Police were called to the hospital where a youth was causing a disturbance.
•An assault was reported from Cook Street, five days after it allegedly happened.
•Charges are pending against a male after a domestic assault on 25th Avenue South.
January 22
•A well-being check on Hillside Street indicated the resident was OK.
•A vehicle reportedly passed a school bus on Helen Street while its lights were flashing and children were exiting.
•A driver who had consumed alcohol was stopped on Sixth Avenue North and issued a three-day driving prohibition.
January 23
•A male who was reported to have been standing on the railway bridge on Canyon-Lister Road for 90 minutes was not located.
•A break-in to a Rocky Point Road residence netted thieves medication and cash. The door was kicked in to gain access.
•Police were called to a family dispute in the 5000 block of Highway 3A.
January 24
•No injuries resulted in a two-vehicle crash on 16th Avenue South at Cedar Street.
•A male hiker who was lost called 911, but police determined he was in Idaho. A passing motorist stopped while he was on the phone.
•A tire was punctured overnight on Sixth Avenue North.
