The City of Vernon will be completing annual ditch maintenance on Tronson and Bella Vista roads and the surrounding area over the next six weeks.
Ditch maintenance involves the excavation and removal of built-up material in ditch lines and is required to ensure proper roadway drainage and to reduce the risk of flooding during storms.
“Property owners should be aware that landscaping features including grass, shrubs, landscape rock or other features that have encroached within the ditch line may be removed as part of the maintenance process,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications officer.
“Although every reasonable effort will be made to minimize the disruption to traffic, motorists should be prepared for minor delays. Roadways may be reduced to single lane alternating traffic flow directly adjacent to working crews.”
