Police are still trying to identify a motive behind a drive-by shooting that occurred Saturday night and resulted in about a dozen shots being fired at a local residence.

The incident took place at about 8 p.m. in the 27600 block of Signal Court, located in west Abbotsford just east of Station Road (276 Street) – the border between Abbotsford and Aldergrove.

Police who arrived on the scene found several shell casings in the area, as well as a car and a home with bullet holes.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said two people were in the home that was struck, but nobody was injured.

He said the occupants of the residence have co-operated with police, and they have no  links to criminal activity. Police have not been able to identify a motive for the shooting, MacDonald added.

Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and review video surveillance from the area.
