West Shore RCMP arrest three people in search and seizure operation

Police are asking for the public’s assistance after seizing a substantial amount of pills and cash at a residence half a block from Ruth King elementary in Langford.

The West Shore RCMP’s crime reduction unit executed a search warrant Friday in the 2700-block of Jacklin Rd. and seized more than 600 pills believed to be controlled substances and more than $26,000 in cash.

“The close proximity of the school to where the drugs were seized is quite concerning,” said West Shore RCMP Const. Alex Bérubé in a statement.

Bérubé couldn’t confirm if any of the substances were fentanyl as they have yet to be tested.

Police arrested three individuals, Langford residents Edgar Acevedo, 41, and Erickson Delalcazar, 37 as well as a 32-year-old Saanich resident. Acevedo and Delalcazar have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and all three were released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

Anyone with information on this case, or any other crimes on the West Shore are asked to contact the local detachment at 250-474-2264 or through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
