On Saturday, Oct. 12 at approximately 3 a.m., staff at the Castlegar Tim Hortons called RCMP to report that a vehicle had just knocked the large drive-thru sign off a pedestal causing substantial damage, and that the vehicle was still in the drive-thru.

According to an RCMP release, officers attended and located the driver, a 62-year-old Sicamous man.

He faces charges of impaired driving and driving while over .08 and will appear in court in December.
