Around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 11, 100 Mile House Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire on Elefson Road – south of 100 Mile House on Highway 97.
Upon arrival, fire chief Roger Hollander says heavy fire and smoke was coming from the house.
“Our crews initiated an aggressive interior attack and we were able to suppress the fire while containing it to the garage area.
The Lone Butte Fire Department was called in for water support.
All occupants and pets were able to exit the home without injuries.
The fire is still under investigation, Hollander says, adding initial findings indicate home repairs involving soldering are believed to be a contributing factor.
