The eastbound lane closure on Essendene Avenue, between West Railway Street and Gladys Avenue, will continue until April 22.
The 24-hour lane closure has been in effect since March 19 and was originally slated for completion by March 31.
The road closure, to facilitate the installation of a water main under the railway tracks, has experienced some unforeseen delayed and the timeline has been extended, according to city communications staff.
There will be no vehicle access eastbound through this portion of roadway during the construction period.
Motorists are advised to plan an alternate route and detour routes will be posted.
