The District of Kent has a little extra cash to help plan for improvements to the downtown area, after receiving just over $300,000 from the filming of Wayward Pines.
The District will set aside $100,000 to the Land Reserve accounts and $209,500 to the Parks and Downtown Improvements fund. That money received is in addition to permit fees, park restoration costs and other direct payments required due to their filming activity.
Staff will be bringing ideas forward in the future on projects where the funds could be directed.
Wayward Pines is an upcoming television series starring Matt Dillon. It is to be aired on Fox in the near future, however, no series start date has been announced.
