This Saturday, the Cowichan Neighbourhood House Association (CNHA) is turning its attention to arts and crafts.
On Sat., Sept. 8, the CNHA is hosting its annual Art and Yarn Affair one-day arts event at the Cowichan Neighbourhood House at 9796 Willow St. in Chemainus.
The CNHA hosts this craft fair every year, but it is usually held in October.
“Local artists bring their crafts to sell, and we have inexpensive yarn and craft items,” explained Arlene Robinson of CNHA.
This year’s fair takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features a lunch of bannock, smoked salmon and salad.
The Art and Yarn Affair is an annual fundraising event for the Cowichan Neighbourhood House Association, which is made up of more than 100 members. Running almost entirely on volunteer labour, it is both a community resource centre and a youth centre, offering a variety of activities and resources for the community.
