Residents were able to escape from an early morning fire on Allen Avenue in Cumberland Thursday which destroyed a home and threatened neighbouring houses.
Witnesses began to see a large cloud of smoke billowing throughout the village around 6 a.m. from the home, located between 3rd and 4th streets.
There was concern about neighbouring homes due to the close proximity of houses on the street.
