North Okanagan residents can learn more about issues surrounding gambling.
A luncheon Wednesday will look at the role of neurotransmitters in gambling addiction, supporting healthy gambling behaviour online and recognizing the difference between recreational and problem gambling.
“Enhance your understanding of responsible play and help your clients keep gambling safe and fun,” states a release.
Among those encouraged to attend are public health professionals, social workers, financial advisors, human resource staff, students studying a public health field and members of the general public.
The event is presented by the B.C. Lottery Corporation, B.C. Responsible and Problem Gambling Program, the Social Planning Council and Lake City Casino.
The luncheon takes place Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Best Western Vernon Lodge.
