Quick action by crews prevented a garage fire from spreading on Thursday morning in Abbotsford.
Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service was called at about 7:30 a.m. to the blaze in the area of Lefeuvre and Maclure roads – north of Fraser Highway.
When they arrived, the garage was fully engulfed in flames and a nearby tree was on fire.
Deputy fire chief Jeff Adams said an “aggressive attack” by firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading any farther, including to the house on the property.
Adams reminded residents to be extra cautious during the hot dry weather.
“Conditions are tinder-dry. It doesn’t take much to get anything going right now.”
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
