The Evening in the Garden Gala held on May 31 at the Ramada Plaza raised over $84,235 – with net proceeds of $51,414 – for the Abbotsford Community Foundation (ACF) and its six charity partners.

The funds will support summer camps held by the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and The Reach Gallery Museum, mentorship programs for at-risk kids by the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley and assist kids with development needs through the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre. The money will also support the Abbotsford Regional Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit through the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation, and will feed families through Abbotsford Community Services’ Family Centre programs.

“Gala funding will also support the Abbotsford Community Foundation’s Smart and Caring Community initiative to help children living in poverty in our community,” said ACF executive director Susan McAlevy.
