Finalists for the Ma Murray Awards — the Oscars for B.C./Yukon newspapers — have been announced and the Gazette has been nominated for best Special Section for its Happy Birthday Port Hardy project.
New Gazette publisher/editor John Harding is a finalist in the editorial writing category for his work at our Black Press sister paper in Parksville in 2016. Harding won the Ma Murray Award in the same category last year.
The winners will be announced at the awards gala April 29 at The River Rock Hotel Casino in Richmond.
