Gerlach crowned soap box derby grand champion

The annual event ran this past Saturday in Mission on Stave Lake Street

The 15th annual Mission and District Soap Box Derby took place this past Saturday on Stave Lake Street, with dozens of participants coming out.

Mission Mayor Ted Adlem and Maple Ridge-Mission MLA Marc Dalton were the first racers down the hill, with Adlem (40 seconds) edging Dalton (45 seconds).

Megan Gerlach, 13, 36.69 sec (57km/hr) from North Vancouver

($500 bursary, sponsored by @Mission Raceway Park)

 

Fastest Mission Racer

Marcus Wilcox, nine, 40.42sec (52km/hr) from Mission

($500 bursary, sponsored by Rotary Club of Mission Midday)
