Two groups fighting to keep Skaha Park free from the development of a waterside are holding information sessions on Friday.
The Save Skaha Park Society advisory committee is holding a press conference at the Penticton Lakeside Resort in the Merlot Room from 1 to 2 p.m.
In a press release inviting media, the society said they are marking the one year anniversary of the leasing of public parkland for commercial development and will be providing new information.
“This is an important statement to challenge this long overdue, extremely sensitive and costly issue that this council has failed to resolve within a reasonable time frame,” said the release.
A group of over 20 people, who are advocating for a referendum on the Skaha Park development, are also hosting an information session on Friday.
This group, which currently does not have a name attached to it, is holding an information meeting this Friday at 7 p.m. in Skaha Park near the kids splash park area. Visit www.pentictonwesternnews.com on Friday for updates from these meetings.
