Five candidates have put their names forward for a byelection in Armstrong next month that will the seat vacated by the death, in May, of longtime councillor Ron (Sully) O'Sullivan.

Five candidates have put their names forward for a byelection in Armstrong next month that will the seat vacated by the death, in May, of longtime councillor Ron (Sully) O'Sullivan.

There will be an election in Armstrong next month.

Residents will go to the polls Saturday, Nov. 19, to elect a new councillor to fill the position vacated by the death of Ron (Sully) O’Sullivan, who died in May.

The deadline to submit nomination papers was Friday at 4 p.m., and five potential candidates have stepped forward.

Running for the seat are Gary Froats, Helen Jackson, Adrien Lemaire, Gil Melin and Wayne Snider.

Voting will take place in-person at the Odd Fellows Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 19.

Advanced polls will be open on Wednesday, Nov. 9 and Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at council chambers.
