Nanaimo RCMP officers will be in front of Country Grocer at Southgate Mall today (Oct. 17) between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. for the annual Cram the Cruiser event.
Officers will accept food and cash donations that will support a pilot project aimed at reducing youth risk factors.
Partners in this initiative are the Nanaimo RCMP, Vancouver Island University, Early Childhood Development Program and Fairview Elementary School.
Country Grocer will also have pre-packaged bags available for $10, but food donations purchased in any store will be greatly appreciated.
Const. Sherri Wade will be available to answer any questions on this program.
“This is a wonderful initiative and were hoping to not only see the cruiser crammed but over flowing,” said Const. Gary O’Brien, Nanaimo RCMP spokesman.
