New home construction remains steady.
There were 19 unit starts in March in Vernon compared to eight during the same period in 2014.
According to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the 19 starts consist of 16 single-detached units and three multiple units.
Year-to-date, there have been 74 housing starts in Vernon, up from 30 during the first three months of 2014.
