The RCMP have identified 22-year-old Jesse Frank of Williams Lake as the person found deceased a week ago Friday on the ice under the Rudy Johnson Bridge.
“The cause of death will not be released, but the RCMP can confirm that they are investigating this incident as a homicide,” said North District Media Relations Dave Tyreman in a press release. “This incident is believed to have been targeted and the public is not at risk.
On Jan. 2, at 2:17 p.m. the Williams Lake RCMP received a report of a body on the ice under the Rudy Johnson Bridge near Soda Creek, approximately 40 kilometres north of Williams Lake.
The North District Major Crime Unit is reaching out to the public in order to corroborate a time line regarding this investigation.
