Injured horseback rider taken out of Cosens Bay area

Ten members of Vernon Search and Rescue responded to the request of the B.C. Ambulance Service

Emergency personnel were called out to assist an injured horseback rider near Coldstream.

At 4 p.m. Saturday, 10 members of Vernon Search and Rescue responded to the request of the B.C. Ambulance Service to help in the rescue of an injured man that was horseback riding with friends in the Cosens Bay area.

SAR teams went into the area by water and on ATV’s.

Due to the injuries the man sustained, it was determined that he should be transported by boat to the ambulance, which was waiting at the boat launch on Kinloch Drive. Boat travel provides a smoother ride than a vehicle.
