Those hitting the Southern Interior highways on Family Day shouldn’t experience the severe winter storm conditions that many did as they attempted to get away for the long weekend.

Compact snow and slushy, slippery sections are being reported on Highway 3 around the Princeton area.
Those taking the Coquihalla can expect slippery sections from Pennask Summit to Brenda Mine Road. Near the summit, compact snow, slippery sections and drivers are being asked to reduce their speed.
Drivers heading north of Vernon should expect the same conditions with slippery sections from Salmon Arm to Revelstoke.
Environment Canada does not have any special warnings or alerts in effect for the interior this morning.
