Kalamalka Lake water source back on for Greater Vernon customers

High turbidity led to some customers being switched to Duteau Creek

The Kalamalka Lake water source has been turned back on.

Testing has shown that the raw water quality has returned to safe parameters for proper disinfection.

“Customers on the Kalamalka Lake supply may notice a change in water quality such as an increase in hardness,” said Renee Clark, with Greater Vernon Water.

“This may be of interest to those customers who have in-home water treatment systems or aquariums.”

All water in the Greater Vernon service area was supplied from Duteau Creek from March 28 to April 7 because of high turbidity on Kalamalka Lake.
