100 Mile RCMP responded to 78 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Firearms stolen
On March 14, 100 Mile House RCMP attended a report of a break-and-enter on Baker Road in Lone Butte, which is suspected to have occurred between March 1 and 14.
The suspects entered through a pet door in the garage and forced the connection door to the residence. Then they cut into a safe and several firearms were stolen.
RCMP members are still continuing with this investigation and are consulting Forensic Identification Services Section in an attempt to assist with identifying a suspect.

Drug-use suspension
On March 12, 100 Mile House Cariboo Traffic Services stopped a Mercury Cougar with a burnt-out taillight in 100 Mile House.
The officer noted the driver displayed intoxicated signs from drug use and the driver admitted to smoking marijuana. He was a new driver and issued a violation ticket for Failure to Display his N sign.
He also had his driver’s licence suspended for a period of 24 hours as a result of the drug use.
Garage break-in
On March 12, 100 Mile RCMP attended a report of a break-and-enter on Double T Road in the Bridge Lake area.
The suspects had cut a lock on the garage, and entered a vehicle inside the garage. There was no damage to the vehicle and it appears that nothing was stolen.
The investigation is continuing as no suspects have been identified.

Two for speeding
On March 11, 100 Mile House Cariboo Traffic Services Unit members were conducting enforcement on Highway 97 just to the south of 100 Mile House.
A northbound Volkswagen Jetta was located speeding at 156 km/h, and while the officer turned around to stop it, another southbound officer located the vehicle travelling at a speed of 172 km/h.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was issued two excessive speeding tickets. The vehicle was also impounded for seven days for the offences.
The public is reminded that any vehicle more than 40 km/h over the speed limit will result in the vehicle being impounded.
Vehicle break-in
On March 10, 100 Mile House RCMP attended the parking lot of West Fraser Mills on Exeter Station Road after it was reported there was an attempted theft of a vehicle.
The investigation revealed the door lock was punched and the ignition punched on a Dodge pickup truck. The attempted theft of the vehicle was suspected to have occurred between 3 and 7 p.m.
There were some personal effects inside the vehicle that were stolen but the vehicle could not be started.
The public is reminded not to leave personal effects, such as wallets, money or electronic devices, in their vehicles unattended.

Pot seized
On March 9, police stopped a vehicle for a Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) infraction, and upon speaking with the driver, the officer noticed an odour of marijuana.
The officer then conducted an investigation under the Controlled Drugs
and Substances Act that resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of marijuana. The pot was seized and the driver was issued a violation ticket under the MVA.
